Self Myofascial Release

Online Self Led Workshop

What is myofascial release?

Have you ever had some tightness you just can’t quite get rid of or that little niggle between your shoulder blades that doesn’t seem to go away?

Self-myofascial release is a really great way to manage those niggles when you’re looking for some quick relief or if you’re not able to get booked in for treatment. All you need is a lacrosse ball and you’re sorted!

Workshop

Join us for an online pre-recorded workshop where we will take you through some safe and effective techniques that you can use regularly at home to help prevent the build-up of tension and stiffness!

How does it work?

Self-myofascial release uses the lacrosse ball to apply pressure to the affected muscle and you’ll be learning how to move in small circular motions around the muscle.

This will help to release tension in the area and can also improve range of motion. (One thing to note, however, is that this improvement in range of motion is a short term effect and we always want to perform strengthening exercises afterwards to ensure we improve strength in that newly found range to avoid injury).

The lacrosse ball can then be used as a mini self-massage anytime you’re feeling tension building up.

Myofascial release can also be used to help with recovery from injury when our muscles tighten up to protect themselves or you can even use it as a supplement to training by helping to open up new ranges of motion to strengthen.
