Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring my baby?

Babies are welcome at our postnatal-specific courses and sessions, not at our SGPT sessions, we recognise that childcare restrictions often mean that birthing parents are unable to access exercise and time for themselves. We do our best to help accommodate this but we are still a gym environment which means that we cannot keep crawling and mobile babies safe in our sessions. Older children can attend with you on occasion if you have childcare barriers or schools are closed but they must be able to sit in our reception area. SLAM, its coaches and associates cannot accept any responsibility for injuries or harm that may or may not come to anyone whilst on our premises and by bringing your children you acknowledge and accept this.

Is Strong Like a Mutha just for people who have had children?

No! We are specialists in coaching women which means that we provide pre and postnatal support but you don't need to be a mother to join us and many of our members don't, can't or have no intention of having children.

Is this a women-only environment?

Our gym is inclusive of all humans, although most of our members identify as women, we are welcoming of all gender identities.

What kind of workouts do the group training sessions involve and are they beginner friendly?

Our small group PT sessions are strength-based, we focus on functional movement patterns and supporting our members to experience the life-changing benefits of lifting weights in a safe and supportive environment, everything we do is adaptable and suitable for all levels, including beginners. Most of our members had never even been in a gym before they joined us and are now achieving things they never thought possible.

Is there a trial available?

Free trials and taster sessions aren't something we can accommodate, we do have a 4 week trial you can purchase which gives you unlimited access to all of our sessions for 4 weeks, this way you can really get a feel for what we do, if you like it and if it's something you can commit to before signing up for a membership, of course, we'd love you to join us after your trial but you are not obligated to if it doesn't feel right for you. If you'd like to come in and meet us and have a look around before buying the trial we can arrange that for you.

Do you have changing facilities?

We have changing rooms, showers and a refreshment area in the gym which you are more than welcome to use any time. We also have sofas on the Gym floor which can be used for feeding.
